Welcome to Our Blog

So I decided to start blogging in an attempt to keep in touch with people who I have not seen or talked to in a while. This has been a really big year for both John and me. We got engaged in May 2007, I graduated from UCI in June 2007 and in August 2007, I started working for a wonderful company! I was very lucky to get such a great job! I am planning to go back to school to get my MBA sometime next year (most MBA programs required 2 years of work experience). As you probably already know, we got married on June 21, 2008 after being together for 7 and a half years! We had a beautiful wedding that was everything I had ever dreamed of and then we went on a very fun honeymoon in St.Lucia! We also purchased our first home...a townhome in Torrance, CA. Shortly after we got back from our honeymoon, we got a puppy who we named Charlie (he likes to bite fingers...and pretty much anything else he can chew up lol). Charlie has been a real test in our (mainly John's) patience...I had two dogs before moving out (Oreo and Chip) who I had to leave with my parents, but we both had forgotten how much work a puppy can be! We love him very much though and have had lots of fun with him, he has just helped re-enforce our decision to wait a few years before having kids lol. Another big thing that has happened this year is that John got into the police academy...for those of you who know John, you probably know that this has been a dream of his for a long time. I am truly so proud of him! He is finishing off his second week...only 22 more to go! These next few months are going to be hard work for him, but he just has such a wonderful attitude about the whole thing that I know he will not have a problem. Meanwhile, it is really nice to know that this year, he will not have to work during the holidays and I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible since I know once he is a new police officer, it is going to be tough to get those days off. Well, I guess that is it for now...I hope that this will re-unite us with old friends...although we are not that far away...I miss everyone in Downey!
