Past 2 weeks

So these past two weeks have been...interesting...Last Saturday (a couple days after my previous blog) John strained his knee while he was getting up from the couch...I know, sounds kind of funny but he had a really hard workout at the academy on Friday so I think his body was just overworked. That was pretty scary since this is a horrible time for him to get hurt. He could not do physical training for 4 days last week but luckily it was not anything too serious, he's feeling better and now he's back to regular physical training. Tomorrow, he completes his first month there...only 5 more months to go!

We also discovered that we have a huge leak coming from our shower that is leaking into our dining room...someone is coming to fix it today...we'll see how that goes...oh, the joys of being a home owner lol.

Also...an update on Charlie's destructions...since my last blog, he:
--Got poop on the bed (I'll admit this one was not entirely his fault...he had gone outside to poop and John put him on the bed without noticing that he still had some attached to his butt...gross I know...I was not very happy with either one of them when I was washing the sheets at 4:30am)
--Has made 3 new holes in our carpet
--Chewed up 2 of the throw pillows on our couch
--Chewed up the flap on his doggy door
...and he is just all around crazy...I made an appointment to get him neutered, hopefully that will help.

Welcome to Our Blog

So I decided to start blogging in an attempt to keep in touch with people who I have not seen or talked to in a while. This has been a really big year for both John and me. We got engaged in May 2007, I graduated from UCI in June 2007 and in August 2007, I started working for a wonderful company! I was very lucky to get such a great job! I am planning to go back to school to get my MBA sometime next year (most MBA programs required 2 years of work experience). As you probably already know, we got married on June 21, 2008 after being together for 7 and a half years! We had a beautiful wedding that was everything I had ever dreamed of and then we went on a very fun honeymoon in St.Lucia! We also purchased our first home...a townhome in Torrance, CA. Shortly after we got back from our honeymoon, we got a puppy who we named Charlie (he likes to bite fingers...and pretty much anything else he can chew up lol). Charlie has been a real test in our (mainly John's) patience...I had two dogs before moving out (Oreo and Chip) who I had to leave with my parents, but we both had forgotten how much work a puppy can be! We love him very much though and have had lots of fun with him, he has just helped re-enforce our decision to wait a few years before having kids lol. Another big thing that has happened this year is that John got into the police academy...for those of you who know John, you probably know that this has been a dream of his for a long time. I am truly so proud of him! He is finishing off his second week...only 22 more to go! These next few months are going to be hard work for him, but he just has such a wonderful attitude about the whole thing that I know he will not have a problem. Meanwhile, it is really nice to know that this year, he will not have to work during the holidays and I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible since I know once he is a new police officer, it is going to be tough to get those days off. Well, I guess that is it for now...I hope that this will re-unite us with old friends...although we are not that far away...I miss everyone in Downey!
